Increased levels of urea, creatinine, potassium in the blood are a sign of kidney disease. Urea is produced in the liver due to protein metabolism. If there is no disease in the kidneys, then the kidneys perform proper filtration. But if there is any problem in the kidneys, then the kidneys cannot filter the urea, creatinine, potassium in the blood, resulting in their levels increasing in the blood. If these levels are high in the blood test, the patient suffers from acute kidney disease or chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Kidney Function Test

To check this, blood urea nitrogen, creatinine, potassium levels are measured.

Blood Urea Level 7 – 25 mg/dl

Potassium Level 3.5 – 5.3 mmol/L

Creatinine Level 0.6 – 1.3 mg/dl

Measures to reduce urea –

1) Eat less protein, eat less milk and milk products like curd, eat less nutritious foods like eggs, meat, grains, pulses etc. because urea is produced in the liver for the metabolism of protein.

2) How to reduce urea through vitamin C? – Vitamin C is a good antioxidant. It protects the kidneys from free radicals and maintains the iron level in the body, due to which hemoglobin remains healthy and anemia does not occur. Vitamin C stimulates the kidneys to produce more urine, due to which urea and creatinine are easily filtered.

Some more ways to reduce urea

3) Cholera juice detoxifies the body and is beneficial for kidney and diabetic patients.

4) Eating alkaline foods like cabbage, carrots, cucumber, chili peppers, cinnamon, lemon, etc. reduces the urea level in the blood.

5) Drinking more water is beneficial.

6) Keeping the potassium level in the blood healthy helps in filtering the urea.

7) Not giving up alcohol puts pressure on the kidneys.

Measures to reduce creatinine

1) If blood pressure increases, creatinine will increase, so control blood pressure. Keep blood pressure checked and make arrangements to normalize it. l

2) Quit smoking, otherwise blood vessels will constrict and blood pressure will increase, which will damage the kidneys. l

3) If cholesterol levels increase in the blood, creatinine will increase if blood pressure increases, so control it.

4) Those whose creatinine has increased should eat less protein-based foods like milk, curd, pulses, grains, eggs, meat, etc.

5) Drink more water

6) Avoid excessive exercise or heavy work and take rest. l

7) Include fiber-based foods in your diet. These foods reduce creatinine, but those whose potassium and phosphorus have increased should ask their doctor before taking this measure. l

8) Some medicines Increases creatinine, do not take those drugs because they damage the kidneys. Such as pain killers, Vancomycin, Amikasin, Gentamicin and Cefoxitin are called Nephro Toxic drugs.

9) Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) prevents kidney damage, protects the kidneys from swelling. It is usually found in cabbage, spinach, potatoes, etc.

Potassium

If the potassium level increases, kidney patients may have heart problems. So if the potassium level increases in the blood, stop eating foods containing potassium like lemon, orange, banana etc. and consult a doctor. Keep it under control.

You can protect the kidneys from creatinine etc. through Punarnabha and Bhumi Amla.
